Since 2009 our neighborhood has collected over 70 tons of food and provided hundreds of coats and warm clothing for local residents experiencing food insecurity. Please Join us this year in stocking the local NTX Community Food Pantry!
Scare Away Hunger 2024 brought in a total of 6,009 lb of food for the food insecure right here in North Texas!
Hundreds of bags were filled and set out throughout the community of Castle Hills. Young men and their moms with the YMSL Castle Hills chapter collected the bags (in the rain) and sorted the food at the NTX Community Food Pantry. Carloads of clothing donations were collected for the Nicholas Nair Foundation.
A big thank you to Patrick Workley with Tom Thumb for once again providing the much-needed paper grocery bags. We appreciate your generosity! Thank you to all of our volunteers and all who participated to make this happen!
Bags will be delivered the week before. Please fill your bag with non-perishable food items and leave it in front of your door WITHIN VIEW from the street. Please set bags out by 8:00 am.
We will also be collecting clean, gently used coats, hats, scarves and gloves from size toddler 3 to adult. If you can meet this need please leave them alongside your brown bag.
